The core eye-care functions of Lookoff (such as schedule settings and tracking statistics) are stored locally on your device using Android's local database and SharedPreferences. This configuration and usage data stays entirely on your device.
However, the App displays advertisements and offers a premium ad-free upgrade. To enable these features, the App integrates with third-party service networks that may collect and process certain device information:
- Device Identifiers: Mobile advertising identifiers (such as Google's Advertising ID) and device details to personalize and measure ad performance.
- Location Information: General location data (such as country or city) derived from your IP address to display localized ads.
- App Activity & Usage: Interaction metrics with advertisements shown (e.g., ad views, clicks, and rewarded video completion status).
- Transaction Details: When purchasing the Pro (Ad-Free) version, Google Play handles the transaction. The App receives notification of purchase status (e.g., successful activation) but does not collect or store your payment details.
3. Permissions Required
The App requires certain permissions to function correctly. In addition to local alarm scheduling and notifications, network and billing permissions are required to load ads and check purchase status:
- INTERNET: Required to connect to ad networks to load ads and communicate with Google Play Billing.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to verify the device's internet connection status before making network requests.
- com.android.vending.BILLING: Required to process securely in-app purchases through the Google Play Billing Library.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required to show you eye care reminders.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Required to keep the service running reliably in the background.
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & USE_EXACT_ALARM: Required to trigger reminders precisely every 20 minutes.
- USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT & DISABLE_KEYGUARD: Required to display the full-screen alarm over other apps and the lock screen so you don't miss a break.
- WAKE_LOCK: Required to wake up the screen when an alarm triggers.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to support the development and maintenance of the App:
- Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK): Used to serve native and rewarded advertisements. You can view Google's Privacy Policy.

5. European Region Users (GDPR)
